MY STORY
FROM RAGS TO RICHES
Born and raised in North-West London, Jayson grew up in a lively household with his two brothers and parents, a home where ambition, curiosity, and hard work were everyday values.
Even as a child, Jayson displayed what many described as a “born entrepreneur” mindset. At just 12 years old, armed with little more than buckets, sponges, and bold determination, he and his younger brother built their first business: a door-to-door car wash service. They knocked on doors for hours, using the customers’ water, learning early on that success isn’t handed out — it’s earned. That small venture taught Jayson the fundamentals of resilience, drive, and graft long before he ever stepped foot into the world of business.
By 15, while most of his peers spent weekends unwinding, Jayson was working in a shoe shop, gaining first-hand insight into how businesses function both on the shop floor and behind the scenes. His family often imagined he might become a journalist one day because of his natural inquisitiveness — always questioning how and why things were done the way they were.
In 2004, Jayson enrolled at the University of Westminster to study Business Management. But after six months, he realised that the traditional academic pathway didn’t align with the future he envisioned. He recalls looking around a lecture hall of more than 500 students and asking his lecturer a simple yet profound question: “How will there be jobs for all of us when we graduate?”
That moment crystallised his understanding that he needed to create his own opportunities, not wait for them. When he announced he was leaving university to work full-time, his lecturer replied, “We’ll see where you are in five years, and where they are,” referring to the students who were staying on the course.
Jayson took that sentence with him — not as doubt, but as fuel.
In 2005, Jayson stepped into the world of recruitment, a field that would become the foundation of his professional legacy. Over nearly two decades, he has developed a remarkable ability to pinpoint exceptional talent, understand client needs, and create meaningful connections between employers and candidates. His approach to recruitment has always been thoughtful, intuitive, and people-centred.
In 2010, he transformed that expertise into entrepreneurship, launching his own recruitment agency, Enlighten Supply Pool. Under Jayson’s leadership, the agency carved out a valuable niche in the market and grew rapidly. His work did not go unnoticed — he earned multiple accolades, including recognition in a leading recruitment magazine as a top young entrepreneur.
But Jayson’s ambition didn’t stop there.
In 2015, driven by a desire to have a wider social impact, he founded Enlighten Properties. His vision was simple yet powerful: to provide affordable, quality homes and help people feel a true sense of belonging. The mission has remained unwavering — to build better homes, strengthen communities, and improve lives. Jayson leads with integrity, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right, even in the face of adversity.
What truly sets Jayson apart is not just his entrepreneurial accomplishments, but the energy, humility, and resilience he brings to everything he does. He has weathered challenges that would stop many in their tracks, yet his values and determination continue to guide him forward.
Today, Jayson is recognised not only as an inspiring leader and successful business owner, but also as a mentor to many — someone who believes in empowering others, nurturing talent, and lifting those around him.
And his journey is far from over.
With his coaching and Talent ID badges already completed, Jayson holds a lifelong ambition: to become a Premier League football manager.
For Jayson, the story is still being written, and the best chapters are yet to come.
